I’d like to invite you to a professional development session hosted by The Jersey Alliance (state-wide division of the American College Personnel Association) on Thursday, June 9th from 2:00 – 4:00pm at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (Board of Trustees Room, Campus Center), followed by a regional social at Italian Gourmet (324 South Pitney Rd., Galloway, NJ 08205) featuring complementary appetizers, cash bar, and the opportunity to network with other student affairs professionals within the region.
Patrick Love, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Rutgers University, New Brunswick and author of “Rethinking Student Affairs Practice” & Tony Doody, Director of Programs & Leadership in Student Life at Rutgers University, New Brunswick will be joining us to present “Unconventional Leadership at the Key to Systemic Innovation”, a session which was also presented at the national conferences for the American College Personnel Association and National Association of Student Personnel Administrators this past spring.
The perspectives in this session challenge traditional approaches and assert the need for leadership that values constant change, immediate assessment, relentless innovation, and speed. Today’s incoming students present different expectations, needs, and motivations. To survive these tough economic times and justify our contributions to student learning and development we must change the way we do business. The programmatic focus of this session will be on student transitional programming (especially new student orientation).
The event is FREE and open to other student affairs professionals in the region so please feel free to pass this along to anyone who might be interested in attending! If you plan to attend, please RSVP to me at Lauren.Wilson@Stockton.edu or 609-652-4692 so I can have an accurate attendance count for the session and reception.
For directions to Stockton, visit http://intraweb.stockton.edu/eyos/page.cfm?siteID=197&pageID=64. Parking lots 2, 3, and 4 will be most convenient & no parking passes are necessary.
